What we process

Account

Your email address, display name, phone number (if you add it), language and sign-in records.

Provider profile

Provider type, display and company name, company registration number if you state it, phone number and pickup area. If you ask for an identity review: your legal name and the last four characters of your ID document — never the full number.

Listings and photos

Car details, prices, terms, requirements and the photos you upload. Photo metadata such as GPS location is removed when photos are processed.

Rental requests

Your dates, pickup preference, name, phone number and message, and the provider's response.

Saved cars, reports and notifications

The cars you save, reports you send and notifications we create for you.

Technical and security data

Request information such as IP address and browser type, used to run and protect the service. Rate limiting stores only one-way hashes. An activity (audit) log records actions such as approvals and status changes.

Why we use it

To run the marketplace: listings, search, saved cars and requests.
To pass your request to the provider, and their response back to you.
To review listings, handle reports and keep the marketplace safe.
To send sign-in codes and service emails about your account, listings and requests.
To comply with legal obligations.

We don't sell personal data and don't use it for third-party advertising.

Listings show the provider's display name, provider type, company name (if given) and pickup area — never their phone number or identity details.
When you send a request, your name, phone number, dates and message are shared with that car's provider. Once they accept, their phone number is shared with you.
Reports are seen by the Sewasy Cars moderation team only.
Service providers that host and run Sewasy Cars process data on our behalf (see below).
We may disclose information where required by law.

Cookies

Sewasy Cars uses first-party cookies needed for the service: a secure sign-in session cookie, a short-lived cookie during sign-in, and your language preference. No advertising cookies.

Where data is stored

Sewasy Cars runs on Cloudflare, with its own database and private photo storage, separate from sewasy.com. Emails are sent through our email provider. Maps use OpenStreetMap tiles, which your browser loads from OpenStreetMap. Data may be processed outside Malaysia by these providers.
